Support local farmers

Whenever possible, WFP links school meals programs with local small-scale farmers. The program has benefits for students, farmers and their families, gender equality and the local economy. For example, having WFP as a buyer creates stable and predictable markets for farmers, around 70% of whom are women. Sourcing food locally also improves the nutritional value of school meals and ensures the ingredients are culturally appropriate. Research shows that every dollar you invest in school meals today returns up to $9 dollars in value. *By selecting a product, you are making an unrestricted donation to World Food Program USA and we will use the funds wherever the need is greatest.
