Keep girls in school
It’s often not possible for parents facing poverty to send all their children to school, and boys are typically prioritized due to cultural norms. Girls are more likely to be sent to work or into early marriage. Our school meals are a strong incentive for families to send their daughters to class. Research shows that girls’ enrollment rates increase by up to 12% when they receive food at school. WFP could help keep four girls in the classroom for another year by giving this gift today.
